Web Design Across the U.S. & Canada for Businesses & Organizations
I’m based in South Florida, but my work has never been limited by geography. I’ve worked with businesses and organizations across the U.S. and Canada for decades.
From established companies and professional firms to nonprofits and growing businesses, the location may change, but the starting point does not. Each website project begins with understanding what the organization needs the website to accomplish.
I help businesses and organizations define the right website project, then build around it.
Different Businesses Need Different Websites
A manufacturer in Ohio, a nonprofit in California, and a professional firm in Canada may have little in common beyond needing a new website.
That is exactly why the project should not begin with a predetermined solution.
One business may need to support a complex sales process. Another may depend on donations, membership, ecommerce, lead generation, or making specialized information easier to understand.
The industry changes. The audience changes. The business model changes. What the website needs to accomplish changes with them.
The right website starts with understanding the business behind it, wherever that business happens to be.
A Website Project Doesn't Have to Be Local
I’ve worked with businesses and organizations across the U.S. and Canada for decades. Most of the work that determines whether a website project succeeds does not require sitting in the same room.
It requires understanding the business, asking the right questions, making decisions together, and having a clear process for moving the project forward.
Understand the Business First
Geography tells me where your business is. It does not tell me how it works. I need to understand your customers, goals, operations, and what role the website needs to play before deciding what to build.
Define the Project Together
You do not need to arrive with a finished scope. We work through the audience, priorities, content, functionality, and business requirements before deciding exactly what should be built. it.
Work Directly With Me
There is no salesperson, account manager, or handoff to a production team. The person you talk with about the business is the same person defining, designing, and building the website.
Stay Involved as We Build
The website develops through review and discussion. You see the work as it takes shape, understand the decisions being made, and have opportunities to refine it throughout the project.
Combine Our Experience
You know your business, customers, and industry. I bring experience across manufacturing, ecommerce, professional services, nonprofits, real estate, software, and other organizations. Combining that experience helps us ask better questions and make better decisions before we start building.
Distance changes where we meet. It does not change how closely we can work together.
Website Work Across Different Businesses & Organizations
The projects I take on vary because the businesses behind them vary. Some need a focused website that generates inquiries. Others involve large product catalogs, multiple audiences, complex services, or an existing site that needs to be reconsidered from the ground up.
Professional & Business Websites
Websites built around how a company earns trust, explains its expertise, and turns interest into conversations with the right prospective clients.
Ecommerce & WooCommerce
WooCommerce stores that connect the customer buying experience with the products, fulfillment requirements, integrations, and day-to-day realities behind the business.
Website Rebuilds
Existing websites reconsidered when years of changes have left the structure, content, technology, or user experience out of step with the organization they represent.
Nonprofit & Organization Websites
Websites designed around multiple constituencies, whether that means members, donors, partners, program participants, students, visitors, or the communities an organization serves.
SEO & Organic Search
Search work that connects what people are looking for with the expertise, services, products, and information an organization can genuinely provide.
Website Projects Across the U.S. & Canada
Businesses and organizations in different markets can have very different website challenges. These two projects required understanding more than what the existing websites looked like.
One involved reorganizing a national accounting and consulting firm's complex mix of services and industry expertise. The other brought education, conservation, tourism, and community partners together for a California nonprofit organization.
Santa Barbara Channel Whale Heritage Area
BRINGING EDUCATION, CONSERVATION, TOURISM, AND COMMUNITY TOGETHER
The Santa Barbara Channel Whale Heritage Area needed a website that could serve more than one purpose. The organization promotes education and conservation while connecting people with the whales, marine environment, whale-watching operators, and organizations that support the region.
I built the website to bring those different parts of the organization together. Visitors can learn about the Santa Barbara Channel and its cetaceans, find whale-watching tour operators, explore educational content, learn about partner organizations, and find ways to support the organization.
The project also had to give participating businesses and organizations a meaningful presence without losing sight of the Whale Heritage Area's larger educational and conservation mission.
OUTCOME
One website that supports education and conservation while connecting visitors with whale-watching operators, partner organizations, membership, and ways to get involved.
Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf, LLP
RETHINKING THE WEBSITE AROUND HOW A COMPLEX FIRM ACTUALLY WORKS
Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf is a Santa Barbara accounting and consulting firm serving clients across a range of industries. Its existing website no longer reflected the depth of the firm, the breadth of its services, or the different ways prospective clients might look for its expertise.
The project became a major rebuild rather than a visual refresh.
I reorganized the site around two complementary paths. Visitors can explore the firm's services based on what they need, or approach the firm through the industries in which BPW has specialized experience. That dual architecture gave the firm's services and industry expertise distinct roles while connecting them throughout the site.
The rebuild also gave BPW a stronger platform for its team, history, insights, recruiting, community involvement, and continued organic search growth.
OUTCOME
A website structured around the full scope of the firm, with clear paths through both services and industries and a foundation that can continue to support content, search visibility, recruiting, and business development.
U.S. & Canada Web Design FAQs
Before You Decide What to Build
You don't need a finished scope, a list of pages, or all the answers before we talk.
If you're considering a new website or questioning whether your current one still fits the business, tell me what has changed, where you want to go, and what you need the website to do. We can define the right project from there.
