West Palm Beach Web Design for Businesses & Organizations
West Palm Beach is attracting a new wave of investment and business activity. Financial and wealth management firms are expanding downtown, while new development is bringing technology, healthcare, retail and other businesses into a city that already has a substantial base of professional, industrial and locally owned companies.
A financial firm downtown, a retailer opening in NORA, and a manufacturer or distributor near the airport have different customers, sales processes and requirements for their websites.
I help West Palm Beach businesses and organizations define what their website needs to accomplish, then build around how the business works, who it needs to reach and what those customers need from the site.
The Address Is Only the Starting Point
A West Palm Beach address doesn't necessarily define the market a business serves.
Its customers might be a few blocks away, across Palm Beach County or across the country. A restaurant may depend heavily on nearby searches, while a professional firm, manufacturer or specialized company may draw customers from a much larger area.
Where the business is located matters. Where its customers come from matters too.
Web Design for the Businesses & Organizations That Make Up West Palm Beach
West Palm Beach has grown in layers. Its downtown business core, established commercial corridors, industrial areas and newer districts such as NORA each developed differently and continue to attract different kinds of businesses.
Understanding those differences gives me a better picture of the businesses I'm building for and the markets they serve.
Downtown, Flagler & Quadrille
Downtown West Palm Beach has become an important center for finance, wealth management, law and other professional services. New office development along Flagler Drive and Quadrille Boulevard continues to add firms serving sophisticated clients in competitive markets.
Prospective clients often encounter these firms online before they ever speak with someone, making the website an important part of establishing expertise, explaining complex services and earning that first conversation.
CityPlace
CityPlace now combines restaurants, retail and hospitality with a growing concentration of technology, healthcare, accounting, law and financial services. That mix puts medical and professional practices, established firms, growing companies and consumer businesses in the same district.
With businesses serving patients, clients, customers and visitors in the same part of downtown, the website has to be built for the particular audience and decision process of the organization rather than for the district around it.
Clematis Street
Clematis Street remains West Palm Beach's traditional downtown Main Street, with restaurants, independent retailers, entertainment, professional offices and service businesses sharing a walkable commercial district.
Here, the website often has a more immediate job: help someone find the business, understand what it offers and turn a mobile search into a visit, reservation, inquiry or sale.
NORA & Northwood
NORA is bringing a new generation of restaurants, retail, wellness and hospitality businesses into the city, while Northwood has an established base of independent shops, restaurants, creative businesses and professional services.
Many of these businesses depend on customers choosing them specifically rather than simply choosing the nearest available option. The website has to communicate enough about the business, its experience and what makes it different to give someone a reason to seek it out.
Airport & I-95 Business Areas
West Palm Beach's airport and I-95 corridors include manufacturers, distributors and other business-to-business companies whose customers may be located anywhere in Florida or across the country.
For these businesses, the website needs to explain what the company does, make products or capabilities easy to understand and support a sales process that may begin online long before anyone speaks with the company.
Not every West Palm Beach business fits neatly into one of these districts. Home-based and service-area businesses may operate without a storefront or office their customers ever visit, while serving clients throughout Palm Beach County and beyond.
What I Build for West Palm Beach Clients
Most of my West Palm Beach projects use WordPress as the foundation, with the scope varying considerably from one project to another.
Business & Professional Websites
For professional firms, established companies and growing businesses, I build WordPress websites around how prospective clients evaluate the business, what they need to understand and what should move them toward a conversation.
WooCommerce & Ecommerce Websites
When the website also needs to sell, I use WooCommerce to build ecommerce into the same WordPress platform rather than treating the store as a separate part of the business.
Website Redesigns & Rebuilds
For an existing website, I first determine what is still worth keeping and what has become a limitation. That tells us whether the right project is a redesign or a more substantial rebuild.
Nonprofit & Organization Websites
I build nonprofit and organization websites around the different audiences they serve and the information, resources and actions each one needs to find.
Search Visibility
I plan page structure, content and internal linking with search in mind from the beginning, whether the business needs to be found in West Palm Beach or reach customers across a much larger market.
West Palm Beach Website Projects in Practice
The best way to explain how I approach website projects is to look at the work itself.
These West Palm Beach connections have led to projects with very different business requirements, from helping a local manufacturer reach customers nationally to building for an organization working with a highly specialized scientific audience.
Cagemasters USA
Cagemasters is a West Palm Beach manufacturer located in the industrial area between I-95 and Palm Beach International Airport. After I rebuilt its original website and developed its organic search presence, the company began receiving inquiries from customers across the country.
That national demand exposed a problem. The company's existing custom fabrication, delivery and installation model wasn't designed to serve customers throughout the United States.
DECISION
Solve the fulfillment constraint before pursuing more national growth.
Cagemasters developed a modular product system that could be packaged and shipped, giving the business a practical way to serve the larger market its website had uncovered.
OUTCOME
A West Palm Beach manufacturer that had primarily served a local and regional market became capable of serving customers nationally.
Luminous Mind
Luminous Mind is a neuroscience-focused drug development company with a team that includes scientists and business leaders working from multiple locations. I was brought into the project through Dan Bradbary, a member of the company's business operations team.
Dan already had the company's branding, presentation materials, website content and examples of sites that reflected the direction Luminous Mind wanted to take. My role was to turn those materials into a WordPress website that could present the company's scientific work, development strategy and experienced team clearly.
OUTCOME
Luminous Mind gained a professional website that gave its specialized scientific content a coherent structure and could continue to grow as the company's research, team and development programs evolved.

Local When It Matters. Experienced Beyond West Palm Beach.
HYPEsites is based in Delray Beach, close enough to meet with West Palm Beach clients when that would be useful and work directly with them throughout the project.
I've built hundreds of websites for businesses and organizations across the U.S. and Canada. That experience includes projects for local businesses as well as companies selling nationally, organizations serving multiple audiences and businesses with more complicated operational requirements.
West Palm Beach clients get the same thing: direct access to the person defining, designing and building the website, with experience drawn from projects well beyond South Florida.

Before You Decide What to Build
You don't need to come to the first conversation with a sitemap, technology choice or finished project brief.
If you're thinking about a new website or trying to decide what to do with the one you have, we can start there.
I've spent more than 25 years building and operating businesses in South Florida and have designed and developed more than 700 websites. That experience includes running web development for agencies as well as working directly with businesses and organizations on their websites, ecommerce, and digital strategy.
